Why is the price of LED screen is increasing sharply?

LED lamps and IC are both key parts of LED screen, as the IC costs increasing by 300%-500% from Apr, the costs of LED screen are rising sharply accordingly.

Why the impact of IC to LED screen is so big?

The quantities of IC calculation. Here taking outdoor P4 as an example.

P4 LED module size: 256*128mm

LED module resolution: 64*32

The drive mode of outdoor P4 is 8 scanning, so the IC quantities will be:

64/16=4 (64 pixels of horizontal; 16 pcs connector per IC)

32/8=4 (32 pixel of vertical; 8 scanning)

4*4*3=48pcs.(3 colors per LEDs)

The costs of IC is 0.1 RMB/PC before April 2021, now is 1 RMB/PC.

Therefore, the price difference of one LED module will be:

Previous: 48pcs*0.1rmb=4.8RMB

Now: 48pcs*1rmb=48 RMB

That’s why the costs of LED screen increasing sharply as the increasing of IC costs.
